Online Training Modules

There are two online training modules to support you through the PDR process.

  • Introduction to PDR Explains the benefits of PDR to the individual and the organisation and provides an overview of the key elements of the process. A successful PDR depends upon both reviewer and reviewee understanding the process and being fully prepared.  Enrolment key: intropdr2
  • Setting Objectives Will help you understand the importance of setting objectives and explain how to use the SMART model to design effective performance objectives. Enrolment key: setobjectives2

Workshops for PDR Reviewers or Line Managers 2025

To book a course, please log into the HR Self Service Portal. Select the Learning and Development option (look for the mortarboard icon) and search by category or course name. Once booked, your line manager will be prompted to approve your request.

Coaching Skills for Managers An approach to development, coaching can help managers develop their skills and build their confidence in many aspects of line management and unlocking the potential of team members. This workshop is an introductory session to coaching for managers as an approach to supporting and developing their teams.  24 Sept

Introduction to Management This programme (available through nomination for Operational, Commercial and Technical Managers only) helps managers understand the role of the manager and teams, workload management and change, meaningful conversations and managing performance.

Coaching Mindset This course introduces a coaching mindset. Content covered includes examples of good, open questions, conversation frameworks and when coaching is likely to be effective (and when it’s less likely to be). 7 Aug Online, 1 Hour
Confidence and Assertiveness This workshop is suitable for anyone who would like to develop new skills or refresh existing skills in being more assertive and confident. Increase awareness of your own behaviour and communication styles, and the impact you have on those around you.
